Hatton still giving excuses about losing to Pacquiao

You got to hand it to Ricky Hatton.  Three months on, he is still giving excuses on why he lost to Pacquiao.

According to his recent interview with Sky Sports, he lost because he was “overcooked” and the training turned sour in the last crucial days before the fight.

That makes seven excuses we have seen from Hatton’s camp and other parties:

1. Hatton was dehydrated trying to make the weight

- This is the same excuse Dela Hoya gave for losing to Pacquiao.

2. Hatton was not comfortable fighting in the 140lb catchment

- He fights best at 140lbs and considered unbeatable in this division

3. Hatton is old now and no longer in his prime

- What? He is the same age as Manny (30)

4. Hatton was really not a good boxer

- Before the fight, Hatton was considered one of the best, making it to the Top Ten Pound for pound list.  He was unbeaten prior to his loss to Mayweather.  Suddenly he was a bum not worth beating?

5. He did not train hard enough

- He trained intensively for three months. He knew how important this fight was for his career.

6.  Hatton was not focused and lost heart after losing previously to Mayweather

- He was hungrier when he met Manny and wanted to prove to everyone that he was the better boxer.

7.  Hatton trained too hard

If he was honest to himself, he would probably say:

“I will be boxing again since it is what I do best but I never would want to be in the same ring with Pacquiao. He beat the crap out of me before and he is way out of my league. Man, I didn’t even see what hit me. I trained so hard then but he’s just the better fighter.”

Haha, funny article. Found this after reading about Pacquiao vs Cotto

Hatton is so unlike Cotto who’s a gentleman and congratulated Manny after their fight.
