In his recent interview in “Primera Hora” (as reported by Boxing Scene), Miguel Cotto had some defiant words for Pacquiao’s camp:
“I have some news for Freddie [Roach]: I am not Oscar de la Hoya, who was caught at the end of his career, and I am not overrated like Ricky Hatton. Roach knows what Pacquiao will be facing on November 14. It will be a war.”
Cotto also insisted that if Pacquiao wanted it to be a title fight, then the weight must 147lbs not 145lbs.
Some tough words from someone who knows this is the biggest fight of his career. What if Pacquiao’s camp simply walks away the deal? As Examiner.com opines, Manny does not need to Cotto or his belt.
Like it or not, Cotto may be forced to stake his belt after all, according to WBO chief.
A smarter move for Cotto is to accept it and do his best in the fight.
Let’s get on with the fight!
